Recall that Finjan, acting through its attorney, the most honorable James A. DiBoise, deliberately misrepresented my review of their software, "Drowning in the Surf," to the Georgia Institute of Technology in order to suppress its truths unflattering to Finjan. Recall that Finjan, speaking through its attorney, falsely accused me violating "US Copyright laws and local theft statutes" as part of their stratagem. Recall that Finjan, speaking through its attorney, falsely accused me of defamation "in addition to the violations of law described above." Further recall that Finjan, acting through your own hand, repeated those false accusations, added further falsehoods about my web pages and their history, and posted them all to numerous newsgroups yesterday in a tawdry effort to manipulate public opinion. Recalling all of these things, and seeing that not one person who troubled himself to critically ascertain the facts believes a word of Finjan's corporate claptrap, you will surely understand why I do not wish to join Finjan's Technical Advisory Board. It is nothing short of amazing that the directors and pooh-bahs of Finjan Software choose to conduct their business in this way. It is nothing short of astounding that any business, in this day and age, believes that employing lawyers to bully critics into silence is a sound way to demonstrate technical expertise and gain public approval for their products. It is a very great shame that Finjan has tried these tactics against me, and it is a very great credit to the Internet community that you have failed so miserably. Instead of my joining Finjan's Technical Advisory Board, let me make another suggestion. I strongly suggest that you resign your position from this pathetic company and seek employment with a company where you are not required to participate in such schemes. It would surely be far better to be unemployed, or even to make an honest living flipping hamburgers at McDonalds, than to labor under the spell of such an organization. Mark D. LaDue P.S. Kindly give Shlomo the finger on my behalf.
